Pros
Fast paced working environment with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow your career. Lots of interesting and high visibility work and projects being at an OEM. Management emphasizes frequent job rotations to get a well rounded professional experience. Most generous vehicle discounts of the three domestic automakers. Excellent 401K match.
Cons
The pay is laughably low, especially considering the extremely high hours and amount of stress in their Finance group. Make sure you’re happy with your starting salary, because there is almost no chance of getting a raise, even if you’re a top performer, unless you get a promotion. Much lower salaries than the other OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. I know of multiple employees (highly educated/skilled professionals in an in demand field) who have not had a single raise in 3-5 years, which is absurd and well outside the norm. Hours are insane, because teams are understaffed, turnover is constant and upper Management’s expectations are decoupled from reality. As previously stated, no extra pay, perks or recognition for all this hard work. It’s just their minimum baseline expectation. They act like they’re still a scrappy underdog coming out of bankruptcy rather than the large, profitable company that they currently are. It’s honestly insulting.
