Pros

If one shows up for work, does what is expected and stays for over two years.... time off work won't generally be a problem but the company MUST be notified 30 days in advance or somewhere with enough time in advance. One should not spring anything on them. The benefits DO pay for most generic perscriptions.

Cons

Workers over 40 and minorities not exactly treated with maturity and respect. If anyone in management so much as suspects any bad-talk, whether one is guilty or not, things are NOT going to be easy.

Pros

Promoting from within and being able to apply for any job after 90 days is an incentive for those that are new coming into the business. Depending on your job, you can go about your business and clock out at the end of the day without too much headache. Training is paid for and varies anywhere from 1-4 weeks with an incubator period built in to adjust to the job with more than standard support. You are able to get to know all of the key players early on (site director, operations, training, quality, etc...)

Cons

It really is one of those jobs that depend on who you know or are in the "in" crowd regarding advancement. There are entirey too many secrects kept from the general population regarding their jobs which impacts workplace satisfaction. Most higher ups all have their own agenda which negatively impacts not only communication within their own ranks but tha agent level as well. Churn is extremely high for a job that is fairly easy (come to work, take calls, adhere to your schedule, hit your metrics, go home for the day, rinse and repeat). It is true that the compentincy of the supervisors are fairly low and that they cannot assist their own agents on accounts they support. Which leads to hear say from the floor, which is mostly wrong, which causes upset customers. Individual growth and development is non existent as Supervisors waste much of their time BS'ing with operations and spending time in the break area. Sup calls are like pulling teeth when assistance is needed. And like so many other sites, there is always some kind of contradicting information wether it comes from HR or the Site Director. Everyone there just wants to collect a paycheck and to hell with the people who actually want to do a good job. Metrics standards are very challenging coming directly out of training which makes for a stressful ABAY period. You have really 1 week to adjust before corrective actions start coming your way. Some quit before they get fired. A big morale killer right out of the gates to know that if you don't shape up in 4 weeks you are fired. Recruiting sucks on so many levels as they always overfill classes to compensate for attrition, problem is training rooms can only seat so many people. Being in a training room and not having your own PC for several weeks is not an ideal learning solution. The training team is spread very thin having 2 trainers for 5 lines of business with no compensation definitely effects their performance as well. StarTek does indeed know how to dangle the carrot, but usually does not make good on promises made. People usually churn out of the business before StarTek has to act anyway. Every interaction you have is documented either during or after you leave in speaking with a manager. While I understand the process, it very much hinders the will for speaking freely as anything you say can and will be held against you should you F up.

Pros

Your co workers are super people.

Cons

Perhaps I might be incompetent ... however, I DO try hard as I can but still get into "trouble" there. I have been there for 2 years and frankly, things do not seem completely "all right" over there. Too many secrets, too many inconsistencies in the rules, etc. TOO CONFUSING.
