Pros

"Describe some of the best reasons to work for StarTek" -- the only benefit is working from home... other than that--- stay away!

Cons

No communication whatsoever --- no feedback on questions, concerns, inquiries; no structure; incredibly unprofessional and untrained supervisors; most paychecks are incorrect and it takes months to have them adjusted; low pay

Pros

Training Pay is the best part.

Cons

Depending on your location, this may vary. But at my location we have calls back to back, so there is no time to do what you want unless your in a special queue, which you have had to be there long enough to get in one, because they don't offer them any longer. Terrible Pay Terrible Work Environment, everything broken and outdated. Management act like you inconvenience them when you need help. There is no care for employees. They will ditch you without a word Overall it is a bad experience unless you love being yelled at all day and over working on odd hour shifts that are hard to change.

Pros

coworkers for the most part - in the same boat; many good people that really need a job

Cons

you're scheduled at certain time and are expected to be ready to take calls at that time - unfortunately there are multiple systems that need to be booted up and logged into separately prior to being ready to take a call - you're expected to come in before your scheduled time; I've read other instances of flexible hours but not at this location; training was a joke - totally unprepared for taking our first calls - I think maybe 5 out of original 31 in my training class are still doing this bs - misinformation is also common among some of the redhats along with a lot of 'I'm better than you because I'm a redhat' attitude; many supervisors don't care - they'll laugh, joke and even scream loudly while the minions are trying to understand the little old lady on the other end of the line w/a phone problem. Some, though few, of the supervisors seem to really have a handle on things and actually will help other supervisor's folks when in need; only one trainer I've had seems to be worth his salt. 'A fun place to work' sounds great but the only people this seems to apply to are those not on the front lines - screaming laughter, nerf gun fights, throwing footballs around folks trying to take calls is ridiculous, especially when your help flag is being ignored...
