Pros

I have always had decent luck with my managers and never had a problem with them as long as I worked hard. The coworkers have always been a saving grace, I think Starbucks attracts some pretty cool people to work with. I have also met a lot of cool customers, and the benefits they provide at 20 hours is pretty amazing. I have had a good time working with this company overall, and have been able to take advantage of what they have to offer.

Cons

It's still a corporation and in the big picture Starbucks doesn't care about it's employees. The higher up the food chain you go, the district managers, regional directors, and so on, are completely out of touch with what it's really like to work in their stores. They push managers to do more business while cutting labor. They bully the good leaders into quitting or demoting because it's simply not worth it when they know what it's like to be a barista/supervisor and the higher-ups still want them to treat us like we're disposable. If you don't expect anything more than a fast-food job with a better work environment, you are golden. But don't go in expecting Starbucks to treat you like you're valuable. It's a job working for a huge corporation, and the only thing they will care about in the end is profits. Don't drink the KoolAid. Respect yourself.

Pros

-free spotify premium -great team members

Cons

-terrible management; literally thought i was in high school again with favoritism and cliques (im looking at you, KW) -will give you copious amounts of work on top of projects that you are currently working on, then not get any credit or recognition. -racist -will somehow use a straight white man as a diversity hire because they are “iRiSh” -will force you to drink their horrible coffee via coffee tastings (my IBS had gotten significantly worse while working there) -equipment always breaking or not working even though we are the tech department -no one communicate -management will try to keep you in the same position forever and a half until you suck up or end up quitting out of frustration -“we’re more than just a company, we’re a family” -drove a coworker into madness that they checked into a mental institution

Pros

One of the world’s most recognizable brands, free coffee

Cons

Too many stakeholders need to be involved in making even the smallest of decisions, the work is extremely slow - you could be there for years before you see anything you work on come to life.
