Pros

Starbucks is passionate about what they do and that passion works it's way down into many departments. Being a large organization, you can either get lost in the weeds or find the right fit and really thrive, it's up to you. They (mostly) do care about their employees and take their "top companies to work for" awards seriously.

Cons

Starbucks is so large that it's easy to get lost and unrecognized if you just quietly do your job and don't have a boss that acts as your champion. It can be very frustrating if you find yourself in the wrong job or working with the wrong people.

Pros

Well known company. Low key work environment. Laid back dress codes. Also has all you can drink coffee, with full coffee bars where you can make almost anything you find in the stores. Beautiful offices downtown seattle and the campus is expanding. It's a feel good work environment, similar to camp, except you get paid. Here you will find that a good "fit" is key, just like in high school.

Cons

Passive aggressive work environment. Not a culture of performance. At time the culture is more of a "cult". Company is currently stuck in a prima donna phase, and coming to grips with the fact that just being "cool" isn't enough anymore.

Pros

Free Coffee, 30% discount and the pay, for working at the corporate office was very good.

Cons

It's not what you know, but who you know. I worked at the corporate offices for 7 months. It was the most stressful job I had ever had, for being a 'simple' customer service job. Although employees are fully informed of certain situations, employees are encouraged to not be forthcomming with customers. Frankly, I left because I could not continue to lie to customers about serious issues customers and vendors were expieriencing.
