Pros

Worldwide locations and opportunities, so a chance to move around with the company if desired. Fast paced with lots of change and innovation. Good reputation.

Cons

There is a culture of arrogance. "We are not an ordinary company driven by profit and loss, but exist to lift the human spirit" (until profits slow and then "look out") You really need to drink the Koolaid to advance. If you do not put in time in store management in the field, your career choices will be limited considerably..

Pros

Free Coffee!!! People are fun to work with. Brand Recognition.

Cons

Highest performance rating, lowest pay increase...need I say more? Limited work/life balance Systems were lacking as far as having things in place to obtain data, analyze necessary data, etc. Parking in Seattle is nearly impossible unless you get to work super early. Otherwise there is a lot that is past the train tracks but you must take a shuttle and if you get caught by the train - significant delays. The waiting list to get into the parking garage onsite is never ending. I was there for 2 years and was still #300+.

Pros

Benefits, and a flexible schedule.

Cons

Once you get into management, say goodbye to work-life balance. Also, management at the district level and up is extremely out of touch with the baristas and supervisors that deal with the every-day occurances that make their job tough. There are very few times when I saw someone praised when it wasn't forced.
