Pros
I have friends that are district managers for other retailers or QSRs. None of them have the passion and enthusiasm that I see among my workgroup. Starbucks is a great company to work for, and goes out of their way to take care of their people. In return, the majority of their employees do the same for the company.
Cons
As a district manager, it can be difficult to promote to next level positions - there are not very many, and at times it doesn't seem as though directors and above know specifically how to develop internal talent. Also, the base pay for district managers is much lower than other companies. This is offset by a better work/life balance, and above average benefits - but can be frustrating after back to back years of 4% or less merit increases.
