Pros

Some of my co-workers were great to work with.

Cons

Most of the managers were inexperienced and hired because they were managers of a different company.

Pros

The customer interaction. People absolutely love you when you can make a drink exactly to their liking and they turn into loyal customers. I have had several customers who said they prefer me to make their drink. I believe it is also important to make it about the overall experience and not just the product. I ask them about their day and how their classes (I work on a University and am currently a student as well) and work are going. People really appreciate it when even just a few seconds of their day, someone takes the time to ask "How are you?" and really listen for an answer, while making them a drink that could help improve their day just a little better.

Cons

Since I work for a licensed store, I feel like there is very little room for advancement within the company and we get little to no benefits. I am studying International Business and Marketing so I would love to get into more of the Corporate Starbucks higher management positions possibly in the future. Therefore cons: I feel like I work way too hard and get very little back from my licensed store (even though I know how to do everything that a corporate barista does). In addition, our store is very unfair in compensating its employees, with a severe imbalance in equal level of work. The plus side though is that our store is very flexible with my schedule because we are all university students.

Pros

Lots of benefits, diverse coworkers, great customers and if you have a good boss, room for advancement and lots of recognition for positive results.

Cons

Changes made a couple years ago resulted in disrespectful upper management, terrible work life balance (especially for management), conflicting communication from upper management, lack of recognition for achievements, decreased benefits, biased management, decreased labor budget and hours and increased workload. I went from work 40-50 hrs a week to 60-80 as a result of this. I could go on and on. I dedicated my life to the company and the last few years was treated like garbage.
