Some elements of management employ a really toxic leadership style, obsession with billable hours, no time allowance or recognition for essential professional tasks like mentorship, coaching, and employee welfare, no time given to activities contributing to professional institution. High turnover of staff.

Absolutely baffled by the number of positive reviews I’m reading here. As a current Stantec employee, I’m regularly (weekly) seeing brilliant employees and even entire teams leaving for better opportunities elsewhere. Internally, it’s increasingly feeling like a sinking ship with a constant barrage of overbearing corporate decision-making coming from the top stifling internal teams. Shareholders are the only priority; Stantec’s share price is up ~40% this year alone and has tripled since I joined, while employees are lucky to get a 2% pay rise, if not a pay/promotion freeze. If you’re an ambitious, hard working professional, look elsewhere because you won’t be rewarded here.
