Not a good environment

Pros

-The office is nice -Some good coworkers -Employee Share Purchase Plan and RRSP matching

Cons

-Overall Benefits and pay below average -Zero wage increase in years despite additional workload (they are cutting a lot of salaries, so it could be worse) -Zero professional development assistance from the company. You pay out of your own pocket to keep your skills up to date so the company can make more money. -Few career opportunities -Less people all the time (layoffs) to do the work -Poor work life balance if you want to get the work done and not be the next one cut -It is a large company run like a makeshift network of hundreds of small companies. There is very little consistency to be found from one Business Center to the next.

Going nowhere

Pros

Average pay and benefits. Opportunities to transfer anywhere in North America. Great loyal employees at the lower levels.

Cons

Worst management structure possible. Very top heavy with no sense of direction and/or leadership. Billable, billable, billable. At the expense of the unwitting client.

"We Put People First" -- until they lay them off.

Pros

Good people to work with. No more typical bureaucracy and delays to get things done than any other large publicly-traded company. Very tight security controls. Have staff solely dedicated to acquisitions, so growth is a constant mode of change. Nepotism is not allowed so at least it's not one of "those" companies.

Cons

Typical bureaucracy and delays to get things done, so less nimble than a smaller privately-owned company. Very tight security controls, best plan to keep your personal Internet use to your own devices and Internet connection. Use this company to grow your resume if you need to, but keep looking for something else; I personally saw several people with well over 10-15 years get handed layoffs with very short notice.
