Pros

They will give you a job in some new merger or acquistion. You will be bought in to fix Stantec problems then got rid of. They also furlough people to get out of paying severence.

Cons

They mislead staff and new hires and get rid of people once a problem is fixed. No loyalty..expensive benefits. No job security. They don't value staff in any department and many departments are low paid . The senior mangers who have bene there for a long long time like in RIhcmond VA, are just rude, non caring people who dont care baout staff. .Nicknamed " the "body shop" in the business.Health funds disappear, pay goes missing.HR ignores problem.Stantec is a Mergers and Acquisitions compnay wiht bad long time senor management. so expect a fair amount of chaos as the acquire, slice and dice and re-purpose the assets they acquire. They also furlough people to get out of paying severence.

Pros

good salary, benefits were ok, many of the project managers and staff I worked with were great in terms of temperament.

Cons

Not a lot of movement . If you're comfortable doing the job, be prepared to stay there for YEARS. They make you fill out career development forms, and they act on them in terms of setting up mentorships, coaching, etc but it doesn't lead anywhere very quickly. Some of the project managers can be prima donnas and there are a few who are very unprofessional - talking about their colleagues in a derogatory manner or their clients who they're not in agreement with - it's embarrassing. The culture can be one of pretension depending on which group and office you're working with. It's also very much a silo. If you're a project manager, or an engineer with a lot of project work on your plate - say goodbye to your evenings and weekends.
