      Pros

      Opportunity to work with bright talented people on a variety of projects. Salary and benefits are competitive.

      Cons

      Stantec is a company that is growing predominantly by acquisition. This creates a mishmash of cultures, despite Stantec's stated values. Culture is imposed by management in the form of standard operating procedures and policies rather than having those tools support a well developed culture. I found the company to be very bureaucratic. HR offers no out placement support if you are laid off.

      Strong corporate culture of community involvement. Generally good compensation and employee benefits. Strong emerging-leaders program.

      Cons

      Overly-complex administrative structure that goes along with accompany of the size (15,000 employees). Almost constantly changing senior leadership structure. Stantec's growth model is growth by acquisition, and should be re-focused on organic growth.
