If your manager does not have your best interests at heart, they have no qualms with terminating you. There is a full year (12 month) probationary period for them to do so. HR will not do anything about it.

Granting the education at Stanford is one of the best, they don't live by what they teach or aspire or claim to be. Staff is lowest in the totem pole. Faculty is king and students, especially those with the pedigree, comes next.
