Pros

It's so rare to have a job where you go in everyday knowing you're changing the world and can see history being made! We work with some of the most driven, bright, passionate and innovative individuals everyday. Regardless of your level, everyone is given the opportunity to work on a variety of different things, work directly with higher level management on ideas, and grow quickly. Besides the company's mission, my favorite part is the "start up" culture- casual dress, open environment, restaurants with subsidized meals/snacks, onsite dentist and medical clinic, and met some of my best friends here! Not to mention, we look out the window and see one of the boosters we landed standing outside... can't get much better than that!

Cons

Work/life balance - long hours can be draining but always working on new and exciting projects

Great workpace for engineers

Pros

- There are no boring projects. There are no roles with little perceived responsibility. The self satisfaction of seeing your hardware in flight is tremendous. - SpaceX is a meritocracy, meaning anyone can weigh in on a problem and their input is equally valuable if it can be substantiated with good rationale. You are allowed to pursue projects or topics you are interested in, so long as you don't fall short on your current responsibilities, and managers are eager to help their direct reports pursue work that they will succeed at and find personally fulfilling. - Lots of opportunities to learn new skills, and an environment filled with engineers who are eager to help each other solve problems. Overall, I've found it to be a very positive environment for new engineers.

Cons

- The consequences of failure are significant and no engineering design comes out perfect--there is inherent stress involved in working on spacecraft.
