      Pros

      We are going to Mars. Otherwise, on Earth, this is a really vibrant place to work. People here are of the work hard play hard mentality, making it a really productive but also fun place to be. The typical SpaceXer is brilliant, creative, hard-working and highly adventurous. There are never-ending milestones, challenges and successes to keep us inspired. You should work here if rocketry and spaceships are exciting enough for you.

      Cons

      Salary is lower than average for the same job elsewhere, while we work longer hours than average and get no overtime. Maybe the stocks will someday make up for it.

      Pros

      Our mission: we're going to get humans to Mars. Nothing else compares. The culture: it's an anti-bureaucracy and your career is what you make it. We work hard and sometimes that involves long hours, but that's because we're all driven individuals who are excited about and engaged in our work. I appreciate the lack of micro-management. The food/coffee: I love the in-house baristas, and the really delicious subsidized food The holiday party: best.party.ever

      Cons

      See anti-bureaucracy and lack of micro-management above. Sometimes you wish there actually were certain processes in place to provide guidance and direction.

      Phenomenal work environment, fast paced, intensely rewarding, co-workers are almost all enthusiastic and driven, excellent place for career growth, excellent place to have a huge impact on the direction of the company

      High pressure for sure, but this comes with the territory
