      Pros

      Hands down, no other company (or government for that matter) is pushing the boundaries of space exploration and access at the same rate that SpaceX is. I work here because I believe that I can personally have the largest possible positive impact on the world by spending my time and energy supporting SpaceX's mission. There is a real and widespread sense of the importance and impactfulness of what we're doing, and everyone, management to new hires, bring an urgency and drive to their projects that is unmatched anywhere else I know of. Individual contributors are given a huge amount of responsibility and can make significant contributions to big projects and milestones on an accelerated timeline with minimal bureaucracy.

      Cons

      Responsibility is a double edge sword, and the drive for extreme ownership and personal responsibility can be very stressful at times, and very rewarding at others. SpaceX can also quickly take over large swaths of your free time as you find yourself working long hours - it's important to set clear personal work/life boundaries for yourself here, and make sure you work at a pace that is sustainable for you. Other people and management won't do that for you at SpaceX, and people occasionally fail to find that correct balance for themselves and burn out.

      Pros

      Company mission is inspiring. Kitchen and amenities are nice.

      Cons

      Terrible management. Majority of the leadership was promoted early out of necessity and are not qualified for the role. Since turnover is still high at the company, less and less capable people are remaining, who hire the next round of employees (with lower standards). No longer a higher caliber place to work.

      Pros

      I've been working for SpaceX for 2.5 months. Overall, I enjoy the company culture, the working environment and job contents very much. The project schedule is generally aggressive, the job contents are meaningful and challenging, the people here are very talented, professional, working hard and self-motivated. The team communicates with each other with most simply and straight way to keep tasks rolling fast. The company culture is friendly and respectful to employees, fast moving on small tasks/directions and but compliant towards big goals. It has start-up company's character and relies more on professional employee's technical driven development rather than management top-down driven. To work here, schedule is 'King" and need to find all ways to make it. So prioritizing the tasks is a necessary skill to get your way out of stress regarding aggressive schedule. The admin and support team takes care of employees very well with both big and small benefits. Except for managing your own technical work, nothing else needs to be worried here.

      Cons

      Working long hours is normal whatever you are experienced or not. So need to handle work-life balance majorly by employee himself - prioritizing tasks and focusing on critical ones can help on burning employee out. First one month on-board will be hard, especially when project is on peek period. People is busy and tasks are threw to you without training and ramping time, also lack of accurate documentation (sometime, no time to read documentation). On-job learning, working closely with others and verbal communication is necessary to find ways to move forward.
