Pros

At one time SoulCycle was the best place to work for indoor cycling-great to have on my resume.

Cons

SC training is extremely manipulative and mentally abusive despite the fact you learn a lot. I thought two specific training officers were highly inappropriate and should have been fired for the things that came out of their mouths (women). Favored instructors are the only ones who receive big opportunities. Instructors have high egos, and major insecurities, and play desperate /evil games to fill their classes. The community at SoulCycle is very toxic- riders love drama and gossip and love setting instructors up against one another. Instructors are fake and will say anything motivating/inspiring to be everyone's favorite. Riders treat celebrities as if they are celebrities and that's why instructors are toxic. Talent managers put a lot of pressure on you to fill your classes. if you don't, they take it away without hands-on help to set you up for success. The talent they are hiring now is not worth the money they charge riders. The front desk and current managers don't know what they're doing due to a lack of training nor are they passionate about the brand. SoulCycle is fake culture and very tone-deaf. I was miserable working as an SC instructor and was relieved when they closed my studio. You literally can't trust anyone. Instructors are sneaky and desperate. Studio managers can't be trusted and are just as immature as the front desk. Pay is insulting yet they have the money to pay average senior and master instructors top dollar. Instructors of color (especially women) are painfully underrated and not supported. If offered another opportunity, I would decline in a heartbeat. It was too much stress and constant disappointment working for SoulCycle. Instructors are not the same characters they portray on their podiums. I looked up to many and was very disappointed when I was hired. I am forever changed, but thankful because it was a big eye-opener for future opportunities. It does not feel moral to support them even if it were for a single ride. This is coming from someone who was a rider for years before becoming an instructor.

Pros

- good perks: free classes & a merch discount - can be fun with the right team and music - get to listen to music all day

Cons

- work environment can be toxic - instructors are heavily favored. HQ keeps instructors that are difficult to work with, solely because they are profitable. - HQ treats field workers poorly
