Pros

Some nice colleagues Coffee machine depending on what office you are in.

Cons

Firstly, in Germany the company has no Betriebsrat. If you apply to be one or recommend someone you will be fired and quietly payed off. Employees are unfairly dismissed, even in permanent contracts. Employees in other countries are not paid to legal regulations and when brought up will also be payed off to keep their mouth shut. Management have no care or regard for employees needs. There is nobody to speak to about this (Betriebsrat again). I was let go on the spot. Without warning. I was provided some reasoning that made no sense when it was clearly for sick leave due to illness. I was questioned in a demeaning and offensive why by my manager just the week before who thought she knew more about my illness from reading one article online than someone who has lived with it. Also, if you have personal reasons such as death of a close one your time off will not be excused. Very little pay for unrealistic expectations. Cannot speak for all departments of course but speaking with other employees from many departments during my time there, everyone has the same opinion.

Pros

basic Hourly pay, BEnefits technically you don;t experience

Cons

Very cool company.. I got hired and everything seemed ok. Promised 18 per hour plus commission. The first negative experience was inside the branch once I started working. The Branch had no heater this in San Francisco during December. The manager just sent me a link to wear "Layers and gloves". Then working later I found that really you make commission in the "Summer months.'' The policy is employees cannot have facial piercing basically the manager allows the employees to have piercings while HR says its not ok. Basically favoritism is real like the other poster said. After I found out that there is no commission or even a bonus while you train I started looking at other jobs. ONce they found out I was looking for other jobs they fired me.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are happy to hear you like our compensation structure as well as our benefit package. We are sorry to hear about your experience in San Francisco during December. We are also dismayed to hear you believe our management shows favoritism. We work hard to ensure that a fair and balanced work environment is provided for all.

Pros

Diversity and ambitions of the other rental sales agents

Cons

One of the most frightening companies I've ever worked for. There is very little stability and a lot of excuses given by upper management preventing one from succeeding. Ive been promised so often to "hang in there" and that things will change but there are never any hardcore facts to show this projected improvement presented. And with rules and policies changing every day from headquarters and conflicting with the old ones, everything is super disorganized. Had an encounter with a corporate employee from headquarters who came to help out the branch with our quality. He showed up hungover, barely coherent, and smelled like weed. He's even went out drinking and has done drugs with one of the other rental agents! I have seen a lot of really intelligent talented employees resign over the past 4 months. Not a great company if you value hard work and high achievement!

We appreciate your feedback. Sixt has a very diverse culture and it is our mission to recruit top talent interested in growing with the company. We are pleased that you appreciate these aspects of Sixt! To address your concerns, you are correct, there are many changes that Sixt U.S. has implemented and has yet to implement. Even though we are a very established company in the European markets we are still very young in the United States. Due to this, our branch and HQ employees work collectively to find solutions that will benefit our customers and employees alike. Especially in the case of making a franchise a corporate location (as done in Las Vegas), there are many steps to take to ensure compliance. Additionally, our company is filled with ambitious and hardworking individuals dedicated to entrepreneurship. Many employees have been with Sixt U.S. since we came here 5 years ago and have grown significantly. We are determined to mirror this process with high achievers on the front line as well. 2015 was the most profitable year for Sixt across the world. We have made many significant changes to the U.S. structure that has greatly benefited us and will continue to bring us into success in the coming years. If you would like to further discuss your concerns with the VP or HR please call 954-874-1793.
