Process Engineer

Pros

Very smart people, lots of possibilities for improvement of skills and competencies, very good for process engineers to start their career through SGP. This especially counts for graduates as HR "babies" who are nurtured, and taken as future leaders of the organization

Cons

The experienced hires are workhorse of the organization, and highly technical people, however they seem to have different treatment - less chance for career advancement. Especially since Shell does not share transparently peer-ranking in terms of CEP and IPF - these depend on the line manager directly and leadership team. However, most often CEP of experienced hires is low, as they are hired to "do the work" and not become team leads let alone executives. So if you are considering changing your job from other company to make a career in Shell - think twice before you do so. Once in shell, experienced hires would realize they are on the lower job and salary level then their peers with similar education/experience who started in Shell - which makes them feel unfair. Also, once joining Shell, you should know that you are not getting a permanent job - but a job for which your window is open after 4 years. It is expected for people to change jobs every 4 years, and there is no in-role promotion - you have to change your group or location. There are internal HR rounds, if if you do not move within a certain window of time, you are taken out of organization. This was not transparently shared when I started my job. When my competencies were ranked among peers, I was told "I am too young to get mastery level" in one competency, which would not make good feeling with some older colleagues. This is clearly politics vs reality.

Pros

Leading brand, good references, might have a chance to transfer to local businesses after sometime

Cons

Sbsc krakow is perceived as an external entity by Shell HQ and other entities. So be ready to be treated as an outsourced call center from india. People who work there will amke your life harder and harde if you are good at your job amd ambitious because incapable managers dont like ambitious types and wont let you to strive in the company. I have seen many talented employees leaving this center and i was another one after 1 year. Managers lack talent management, they lack proffesionalism and entirely not aware how a multinational organization work. It is not a place for ambitious people

Bad Trainings, Threatening leads

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

- annual bonuses - if you are lucky, some of your team mates are nice .

Cons

- Bad trainings - there is not a structured training, onboarding pack has limited information. A lot of pressure to achieve an high performance even when you are not trained accordingly. - Meetings with your TL feel like you are being in a room with KGB. After 1.5 months of working, with limited training, you are already told that your contract might not be renovated. Destructive Feedback with a goal to intimidate and not to teach or help improving. - Most of the time the meetings would be conducted not only by a TL but also by one of the seniors, who has been made senior through "politics" as it is not possible to pass from a junior to a senior within 2 years. Several other colleagues with very high scores took that amount of time to pass from a junior to an analyst. It felt like the TL needed some help passing the message or was trying to use an extra hand to intimidate. If you defend yourself they ask you for proof like if you are lying. - Toxic and stressful environment to work as your jobs is constantly micromanaged not only by the TL but by other older colleagues. -TL yelling during meetings and sending emails saying you are making other people uncomfortable in the team with no explanation to why. - Lack of appreciation for the work you put in and extra hours. These are not even paid.
