Pros

The gratis is really neat. Even though at cashwrap you don’t get as much. Also the coworkers who were also part time are very nice and cool to hang out with.

Cons

If your not “big” then you are non existent, they have really bad favoritism. Also when they fire you they will not give you a notice, you could have a week scheduled to come into work but they are heartless and would not let you work those day’s anymore. Very cruel I don’t recommend this job at all.

Pros

Gratis And that's about it.

Cons

There are many things I could say about this company, but to sum it up management here and the overall work environment can damage ones mental health tremendously. It reminded me of high school, that's if high school were full of middle aged adult women who were all trying to one-up each other and get promotions. I worked at my store for over 2 years as a colour consultant and was eventually promoted to work in all worlds, and I saw EVERYTHING. There are so many details behind the scenes that people don't know about, especially at my location. It is corrupt and the hiring team for these managers needs a lot of work. The leads were constantly picking on employees, and sneakily going behind the store director's back to get her fired which they successfully accomplished, and are now doing the same thing to the new one. Favouritism is a common theme throughout the Sephora hierarchy, and those that are not liked by leadership are treated like dirt. Managers would blatantly talk crap and start rumours about employees and expose private information about them to whoever they felt like. Extremely unprofessional and immature environment. Hard work goes unnoticed and they pick at the smallest things to scold you on. Sephora essentially wants to condition its employees and turn them into submissive robots that do as they are told and don't ask questions. If you can't conform to that and have a voice of your own and functioning mind that can form coherent thoughts for itself, good luck. Luckily I was liked generally (up until the end) by leadership so I wasn't treated too poorly, but try sticking up for yourself here and there and you won't be in that position. My store had one of the highest turnover rates, and we lost almost every single member of our leadership at the same time after they all quit. There is not one single employee in my store (including leadership - the ones who make it such a terrible environment for everyone else) that actually likes their job and enjoys working at Sephora.
