Pros

None, zip, nada, zero; did I mention NONE? I would actually give zero stars if i could!

Cons

Hired for full-time (told 25 hrs min - 35 hrs minimum, & 40+ for holiday); but scheduled for 14 to 22 hrs/wk. Yet, the day before I quit, they hired on 5 more people, and the managers were saying they were in trouble for over-time. They don't trust the people they hire, either. You have to be searched OFF THE CLOCK every time you walk in and out of the store. This means they look in your purse, pockets, and pat you down. This is great if you like being felt-up several times a day and having minutes shaved off your 30-minute lunch. I saw someone wait 20 minutes after she clocked out for the day before a manager was available to search her. They do it right at the front door where customers are coming in...not a good look! If you have makeup in your purse, they take it and scribe a marking on it. They did not disclose that you could be scheduled as early as 5am, and stay as late as 12 midnight to do cleaning and update displays. Oh, and you'll also be the janitor! You stay 2 hrs after store close to clean toilets, mop, and take garbage out (BONUS search when exiting to take garbage out, and then re-entering store). The worst part was having to wear a headset with an earpiece that has been in other people's ears. All day long, the floor managers are yammering in your ear with non-sense while you're trying to talk to a customer or use the abundance of required apps. They also want you to open 1 credit card per day (most retail is 2 per week). They tell you to mislead the customer and not call it a credit card; instead say "would you like to sign up for a Sephora black card and earn rewards?" I saw customers who didn't realize it was a credit card until prompted to enter their Social. Bad business practice!

Pros

Exposure to learn outside your area of expertise. Free makeup. Ability to work remote.

Cons

They WILL overwork you and use you until there’s nothing left for you to give. The managers create unrealistic expectations and require you to work round the clock. I have personally heard a manager tell their direct report they have to look out for themselves and can’t help. I have personally experienced discrimination and bullying. They do not care about their employees but pretend to do so. If you are not a part of the right crowd you could forget about advancement.
