Sears - Sales Project Consultant

Pros

- Preset sales appointments - Great training on products and procedures - Tight knit team - Management really cares about individual employee success

Cons

- Commission based - Long days - Lots of traveling - Occasionally an appointment isn't properly vetted - Prices are not always economically competitive; Sears offers an incredible product and has great security for consumers, however Sears is competing against small companies selling similar products but that are of lesser quality and cost. For consumers shopping on price point and not quality or stability it is difficult to compete.

Bad management

Pros

Co-workers were all great and helped out with the daily tasks assigned.

Cons

Management is bad. They expect everything to be unloaded from the trucks and processed to the floor within 24 hours, but they only have 2-3 workers processing a 1500+ piece truck. They also made us relocate inventory in the back room, and if a manager doesn't like where it's at, they'll make you relocate it to somewhere else in the back.

Pros

It was great working for Sears Holding Yes, you do have to worry about growth and numbers in the electronics department but that's all department. Items from vaccums, electronics, home appliances, mattresses, tools, and small house items you get a certain percentage of commission depend on the item.

Cons

The management is horrible, they will have you doing other work that is not mentioned on the job description, great if you are selling if not you get hourly paid which can be 0 to 6 depending which department.
