Pros

The people that work at Sears Holdings are very committed people. They truly want and work hard to try to make the company successful. The people are the heart of that company.

Cons

The systems are very old and not equipped to be on the cutting edge of today's technology. A band aid approach is too often used to keep things running which impedes progress and slows down the staff from accomplishing tasks.

Pros

Before the merger with K-mart, Sears was the best place to work - fantastic leadership and a feeling of making a difference. After the merger, everything changed - perhaps it came for the fact that the K-mart management team lost so much in terms of benefits and salary with the bankruptcy. I personally experience senior management that supported reallocation of budget to unintended projects, accepted gross inaccuracies in terms of projects and reports when it was expedient. I suppose it may be a good opportunity for an entry level person, but they would need to have a strong internal moral compass.

Cons

Senior leadership has a mentality that money is what matters most - regardless of ethical issues
