Pros

Good inter-department collaboration with certain departments.

Cons

Here are my experiences: 1) Top management does not care about the opinions and difficulties of PMPE despite bringing it up on multiple occasions. They want results but do not understand the lack of resources faced. Instead of helping the department improve the situation, PMPE is gaslighted and blamed for their "incompetencies" instead. 2) Too many processes to abide by in which majority does not serve any objective purpose. In fact, it hinders our work as each process takes time to comply. 3) Lack of diversity (locals vs foreigners) in the project team. There is a majority nationality (about 80%) in the project team during the term of one particular department head. Thus, there was obvious biasness in treatment and a certain level of toxicity due to the overpowering national pride of the certain majority. In fact, many local PMPEs left due to this reason. 4) When there is attrition, the company does not rehire. Instead, they split the PMPE jobs internally which strains the PMPE with even more workload. To add to this point, the general workload split is not equal. Some PMPE have much more workload as compared to others.

Pros

Saiary is over the average

Cons

While the top management of the company is busy with political games and clinging to their seats, the people in the field are working in very dangerous conditions. Although the company has been a major player in the industry for years, there are still many unresolved problems. In some parts of the company, your nationality is more important than your skills. There is no egalitarian approach. And the HR department acts like a puppet of the top management. The company has lost its DNA.
