Pros

There are some great people here. I spent over 10 years here in various roles and made lifelong friendships. If you’re willing there are substantial development opportunities here. What sanofi lacks in IC and innovation they make up for it by giving opportunities to inexperienced leaders.

Cons

Company cultures are cyclical. There are good times and bad times. The pandemic was a difficult time.. inept and absent sr. Leadership created a communication vacuum, and due to years of not spending time with customers and relying on arrogant and out of touched marketers created a “no win environment”. New leadership had to take action… any action was appropriate due to years of inaction. When I left times weren’t good… and high turnover rates continue. There legacy sanofi sr leaders got into their roles by making sacrifices and taking unpopular assignments… when markets change, and customers evolve as a more sophisticated buyer… legacy sanofi people cling to this 1990s “Jack Welch” style leadership that is negative, and metric drive… leadership including contracting, pricing, marketing, and market access struggles to work together to create a competitive offer… leadership can’t lead sales teams and influence internal stakeholders to bring about pricing, contracting changes for a competitive offer over the next few years… so they resort to managing the only thing they can… which is activity and all the other stuff besides sales.

Pros

401k (9%), Leave, Vacation, and PTO meet the industry standards.

Cons

-Compensation is well below other pharma companies (The same position is paid 50-75% more elsewhere). -Yearly merit increases don't keep up with inflation even for high performers. -Turnover is horrendous, I've never experienced a company with such high turnover. Experienced coworkers don't really exist, compensation is so low that people are constantly churning through positions/departments. Expect to constantly be doing other's jobs in addition to your own without any recognition or reward. -Benefits and perks are reduced every year -Outdated equipment and processes (new facilities built with old technology, do not expect cutting edge). -Culture is non-existent. Its "Save money and be cheap as possible." -Expect to train lower level team members that are paid significantly more than you. The compensation structure is set up so that external hires are paid significantly more than those that have been with the company for years and are experienced. -Very bitter workforce due to low compensation, high turnover, low recognition, high workload, etc.
