Pros

Decent pay...ummmm what else? Hmmm....I'd have to say nothing!

Cons

External employees are EXPENDABLE, more than in other companies. Management cares little for their contractors. I witnessed blatant racism, poor treatment of handicapped people (both of whom were let go on some phony pretense.) Management's attitude is 'they're contractors, we can do whatever we want' [not according to the EEOC people I talked to.] Managers make mistakes then place the blame on contractors and fire them with no notice. Contractors manage contractors and make hire/fire decisions. HR backs up the decisions and makes no effort to get both sides of the story, or treat people fairly. All in all, a toxic work environment. Stay away, far away!

Worse Every Year

Pros

My coworkers are pretty great. Benefits are good, with the exception of bonuses.

Cons

I really didn't think it would get as bad as it has. Not only has the Sanofi acquisition resulted in "LEAN" manufacturing by attrition, the treatment of employees in roles without which the company wouldn't exist has become downright disrespectful. Word has spread that the environment becomes increasingly toxic as one goes up the ladder, and evidence has (fleetingly) surfaced that the Wal-Mart-like raises (read: lack of) for even the best employees are being skimmed off to line the pockets of managers and directors. Let's put it this way: I was insulted by the number shown to me at my review this year, but after learning what I have about too many others, I'm almost grateful. It's not a business anymore; it's the marriage of a ponzi scheme and a labor camp. Morale has tanked. Every work day, to my dismay, I learn how much worse it was than I thought. I would warn you about seeking employment here, but the last couple years has shown me they don't plan on hiring anyway.

Awful Place to Work

Pros

There aren't many to think of. There are some great people to work with and I made some long lasting friends during my time there.

Cons

Allston is completely mismanaged and is prime for a business case study on how not to run a company. Their turnover YTD is over 30% and it has been entirely voluntary. Promotions are very rare and they are planning to reduce the size of the plant from approximately 650 to 400 employees over the next few years through letting people leave without replacing them. After leaving this company, I was able to get a 22% pay increase. They pay far below market.
