Pros
International travel (1-2 weeks per month) which is great if you don't have a family Benefits are OK for older employees close to retirement age In Sweden they offer very good benefits (18 months maternity and some paternity leave). This is not the case outside Sweden though.
Cons
The best jobs are in the head office (Sweden) and are protected by management at the expense of every other country.. There is no culture of accountability - if you do a good job, you are not rewarded, if you don't you get to hang around for eternity relying on everybody else to carry you. Management is completely disengaged from the realities of the mining business Very strong corporate culture forces everybody to march like lemmings off a cliff Poor pay Demoralized workforce
