Pros

Residents are lovely. The reason I love what I do. Majority of other care assistants are supportive and friendly.

Cons

Management are rude to staff don’t seem to actually care about the residents within the home. Staff are just numbers. Always short staffed or expected to move to another unit and no help or information provided. Lack of support from management and admin. Expected to be care assistants as well as chiefs , bakers, cleaners, laundry staff. Management are unaware of the stress a care role entails and always expects more and more. No praise or thank you for anything always negative. Lots of changes to come in October place is going to lose lots of staff.

Pros

Weekends off, bank holidays off

Cons

Poor Management. Treated like a number and not as a person. Bullying and office politics in place, if you try and raise a concern it just gets ignored. Their payroll team is a joke, received a letter 2 months after leaving saying I owed them hundreds of pounds in overpaid holiday apparently. I felt bullied and left out which I can only assume was due to my sexuality.
