      Old School Ethos and Militant Culture

      Salary was relatively decent compared with similar roles elsewhere

      The Facilities Team imposed Culture was awful. You will work 9-5 on the dot each day with set timed lunch, don't expect a fridge, microwave, casual clothes (not even Friday), kettle (you were allowed a hard limit of three awful coffees a day from the machine). Rigorous clear desk policy - not allowed a picture of your baby for instance - desked are inspected (and photographed) nightly. No paid for xmas party, practically no working from home (only very special circumstances). IT-wise, red tape absolutely everywhere and very old school thinking ( eg very anti cloud sentiment & silo'd departments). Dead man's shoes in terms of career progression. Also, the carpark is for Execs only. I had to either pay £4 a day at the pay and display or park on the road about 25 minutes walk from the office. Factor that into commute times. I wish I was making this stuff up but I'm not. I would avoid working here no matter how much they pay you.

      Thank you for your review. At Sanctuary group we take all reviews and feedback seriously and embed positive changes for the benefit of our staff. From the details you provide, I believe you are referring to our Worcester site specifically. At Worcester there is an on site cafeteria due to the volume of staff based in that location. The Worcester site is based in the middle of the city centre also, unlike a lot of Sanctuary’s smaller sites, and as such it is located close to local amenities. I am pleased to advise that there are no restrictions on the drinks machines. As a charity operating across England and Scotland we are very conscious of ensuring everything we do benefits our customers and service users. It is not clear from your review when you left Sanctuary however we promote and support flexible working requests in accordance with our policy and have done so for a number of years. We are very much supportive of agile working too at Sanctuary Group. We are also investing heavily in our technology provisions across all sites. Once again, thank you for your feedback.

      Rewarding job but awful management and head office

      Working (for the most part) with great colleagues and having a challenging job

      Cons

      Head office constantly meddling with how units/ shifts are run. Recently took pay cut but increase in hours for full timers. No longer entitled to a meal at lunch time because they're trying to save money - yet they always have about three courses each when they come to 'visit'. Could go on. Far too concerned about making money rather than their staff wellbeing - hence the huge staff turnover rate.
