Pros

Sample Supports really prides themselves on, "no client is too hard," and although some employees find this to be difficult to wrap their finger around..I am one who appreciates this. Once I began working more with the clients, I found where I belonged and began to understand more of what the concept meant, "no client is too hard." It takes real patience, understanding, hard work and compassion to work with this population. Once you get more comfortable and find where you belong, I find that taking on the harder clients has helped me to learn and grow more as an individual who wants to continue working in the behavioral healthcare field. Hard work here is appreciated! Not only the managers, but your co-workers will encourage you to be confident and to work hard. (Remember, you will still have the support) And, if you are interested in career advancements in the company, do great work in your initial position and ask questions where you find you need most help. The work you put in does get rewarded, no doubt! But do communicate your interests, as communication is valued here. In my own experience at Sample Supports, the hiring managers have done a great job bringing on people who bring something unique to the team. The biggest pro to me have been my co-workers because everyone is very team-oriented. Everyone communicates well, supports each other endlessly and holds each other accountable. I will miss my team. I recognized when you have a good team working together, the clients feel that energy. Most of the time, the clients do well when the team is doing well. To end on everything, the managers here appreciate feedback from their employees. The managers want to know what is and what is not working, so do feel you have a voice in what goes on. The managers will hear what you have to say and they will do the best to implement. But, also take confidence in what they have to say as well :) TO SUM UP MY PROS: Compensation is competitive. Communication is valued. Potential for career advancements. Very team-oriented environment. When you built rapport with the clients and learn about them, they're awesome and appreciate you.

Cons

Long transporting hours, but these hours are billable and you do get paid for transporting clients. I wonder if there could be a different system for tracking and documentation? I didn't enjoy doing more work when I got home after transports.. but, it is paid time!

Beware the fake positive reviews!

Pros

Slightly higher pay than industry avererage.

Cons

In exchange for the slightly higher pay, staff are expected to work all hours of the day and night. No work life balance. Poor training. Poor support from management. Vindictive leadership. Beware the fake positive reviews, many of them are extremely generic sounding and were likely written by the same person in effort to recruit employees (and mask the honest reviews) due to the company's extremely high turnover.

https://medium.com/@carmen_54542/the-disgruntled-former-employee-and-the-oz-complex-of-online-bullying-e8501c6e2dfc#.dj6fvswra Here is the thing "former HR professional" - You were only employed here less than three months and during that time frame you 1) refused to attend company-wide trainings 2) made multiple errors in benefits administration and then became argumentative when asked to correct them and 3) complained to employees about how you didn't like your job. You were a dysfunctional part of the team and were subsequently written up with a corrective action plan. You chose not to comply with the corrective plan by refusing to attend the trainings and so you were terminated. It is pretty easy to keep your job around here if you have a good attitude and strive to do good work. We want good people at the company and are simply unwilling to tolerate those that run interference on the good work that everyone else is doing. Fact Check: Our turnover is less than half of what our industry average is and that is WITH the company choosing to terminate people that are dysfunctional parts of the team.
