Thank you so much for your review, we are so glad you enjoy being part of our team. As a company we currently do pay increases for Direct Care staff at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. After that we do re-assess the pay for the position yearly. We are also very focused on promoting from within and many employees see direct care as a step to move up within the organization.

Worst Job I've Ever Had.

I cannot in good conscience say there are any.

Passive aggressive and unsupportive management, chaotic schedules, being thrown under the bus by superiors when things don't work out because of higher up issues, no work life balance, unrealistic expectations. The nice reviews you see are current managers trying to keep staff. I was mandated to work overtime even when I specifically asked if this was the case, was told no, then mandated to pick up more shifts. Within the mandated overtime, I needed to complete job duties I was not fully trained on that I wasn't aware I'd be needing to pick up due to their inability to keep Direct Care staffed, because it is dangerous and they have no care for their employees quality of life. SLS has it's own problems, such as work calls and texts being routed through your direct phone (I have been woken up by clients texting and calling at 3 AM) use of your own car (I put 20,000 miles on mine in 6 months) but the chaos in Direct Care touches everyone, and doesn't seem to be looking to be resolved any time soon. Avoid this job.

Excellent opportunity to work with individuals living with special needs.

Cons

Chaotic! Multiple job titles and job responsibilities with lack of streamlined efficiency. Requires each staff member to incur individual risk during transportation, direct care activities and tracking individual clients records.
