They don’t care about their employees.
Pros
Employee discount, high starting pay ($10/ hour for Beauty Advisor), free product samples.
Cons
The company is currently undergoing lots of unnecessary changes. They are cutting store coverage & allotted schedule hours & telling employees they can’t afford two person coverage in their BUSY stores, while giving every store iPads, music system upgrades, store renovation projects, even EXPANDING STORE HOURS! We’re already open before every store in our strip every day. We are expected to put away 70-90 boxes of shipment in 2 days with only one person, that person is also supposed to be the “girlfriend in the know” & kiss every customer’s butt & be a personal shopper. Another thing I have a huge problem with is the fact that our store safe is behind our cash register in view of the customer. We have to preform cash strips every time the registers go over $200 & so we’re handling large amounts of money in the store in front of people all day long. Alone. Our district has had several (6, I believe) smash & grab incidents where people have broken into our stores during closed hours & taken expensive tools. What’ll happen when those criminals learn there will only be one person in our store at any given time? The company doesn’t care about their employees. No benefits for part time employees & only managers are allowed to be full time. As a licensed cosmetologist, when I first started here I made $1 per hour more than the non-licensed beauty Advisor. Since they’ve changed the policy & raised everyone’s pay to $10/ hour, I now make the same amount for my knowledge, time, & expertise as your average Sally Sue walking in here looking for an after school job. If that’s not a big middle finger to my craft, I don’t know what is.
