Pros
The 30% off Employee Discount. Flexible Hours. Opportunity to learn in-depth about hair coloring (if you’re willing and interested enough to also do your own research/ experimenting outside of work). 99% of my customers were awesome and thankful for my help. I loved being able to share advice/ my own personal experiences when they had questions about hair coloring or bleaching. Prior to being an employee, I knew NOTHING about hair. Working here sparked a desire to learn how the professionals do things. Free monthly samples (amount of products and sizes [full or sample] varies by month).
Cons
**Each employee’s six month review (a joke in itself as I was there 1.5 years before my very first review) were sent in only to be promptly emailed back stating to LOWER EVERYONE’S SCORE and then send the reviews back, not based on the individual’s performance, but BECAUSE OUR STORE WASNT MAKING THE DAILY/MONTHLY GOALS. Therefore individually REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF THE RAISE WE SHOULD HAVE EARNED based on our ACTUAL PERFORMANCE. ** (is that legal??) Disorganized Upper Management- things change everyday, from plan-o-guides, to what products are discontinued, current and valid promotions, etc. Pushy about reaching UPTs and ATVs that are not always realistic. Most people are repeat customers and do not want to be upsold anything. Too little training about hair color and services. Employee knowledge about products varies too much. Have had upset customers come in for help because employees from other stores have recommended TERRIBLE advice/ basically garunteed that what they sold the customer would do exactly what the customer wanted. There’s too many factors that go into hair services to have over-confident and/or uneducated employees telling a customer how to do their hair.
