Pros
Company benefits like anonymous help, college help if you're full time, and other things i never used were potentially great. I worked in a town where i knew most of the people so working with that demographic was easy and enjoyable for me. I took pride in my store, considered it my store, even though i was only training as an assistant manager. There's a lot of work to do at all times, and its a great place to get experience with every aspect of how a retail store is run.
Cons
So many times people have broken the rules and that's fine, cell phones on the floor, taking longer and un-clocked breaks, being.. human. The store has so many requirements for such little pay that of course employees are going to treat it like a minimum wage job, when they aren't paid whats TRULY deserved for the work required there. Managers are overworked and underpaid which leads to tension and a general feeling of "whatever" by almost everyone. Employees talk smack about management, and management talks smack about higher management, and so on. I guess you get that with any business, but with such small stores and high expectations, if employees were paid more, i feel a lot more would get accomplished and the turnover rate wouldn't be so high.
