Absence of empathy and people-focused leadership at the senior level

Pros

Colleagues and direct managers are awesome, the best people I've ever worked with. Always there to help and support.

Cons

From a technical standpoint, the organization feels outdated and resistant to change. There is little to no drive for innovation or continuous improvement, and the culture encourages basic task completion over creative problem-solving or forward thinking. This stagnation is demotivating for those who want to grow and make a meaningful impact. Additionally, there is a noticeable lack of empathy and support from senior stakeholders, who appear disengaged from the well-being and development of their teams. This was underscored by a recent statement from the CEO: “If you don't agree with this decision, there is life outside Sage.” Such messaging reflects a dismissive attitude toward dissent and healthy dialogue—further reinforcing a top-down culture that discourages open communication and trust.

Please share your insights with us through our anonymous internal platform, Always Listening. Also, our commitment to colleague wellbeing and welfare remains steadfast.
