Cons

If you're considering a role at Sabre, I’d recommend proceeding with caution. My experience there was shaped by instability, rude leadership, and a culture that often felt more performative than supportive. Frequent Layoffs and Restructuring While I worked at Sabre, my team went through 4 restructurings in less than 6 months. The arrival of a new CMO resulted in multiple layoffs and team restructuring within the marketing department. If you interviewed during 2024/2025 and never heard back, it was likely due to this leadership transition. Ethical Concerns and HR Culture There are public reports (easily searchable) alleging that the new CMO violated a non-compete agreement with their previous employer, resulting in legal action. Internally, HR practices raised red flags. One colleague confided that they were asked by HR to monitor and report on another employee targeted for dismissal. Executive Behavior While some leaders were respectful and professional, others came across as dismissive and rude. It created an environment where raising suggestions didn’t feel worthwhile. Onboarding Experience If you're joining a non-Sales or non-Product team, expect a rocky start. Onboarding was minimal and unclear. In my case, I was reprimanded for tasks I hadn’t been trained on, despite making an effort to be proactive and not complain. It felt less like a learning curve and more like a setup to fail. Culture and Communication Internal events and corporate messaging are a big thing at Sabre. Many people I spoke with complained that it was excessive and forced. It often felt like optics for social media. Hybrid Work Policy Disparities Remote flexibility varied widely. Teams handling sensitive data often worked fully remote, while others—especially in marketing—were required to be in-office three days a week, regardless of commute. Several colleagues told me that they were promised flexibility during interviews, only to face a bait-and-switch when they started. If hybrid work is important to you, get it in your employment contract. For marketing roles in London, especially, expect strict in-office enforcement driven by senior leadership. During my tenure, I observed that product/tech teams seemed to be the most satisfied. While Sabre isn’t the worst company to work for, I’d advise avoiding roles in marketing, communications, and sales, which were highly political and, at times, toxic. That said, top performers in sales were rewarded well.
