      1. good work environment with smart people 2. good salary and benefits 3. chance to work anywhere in the world since this is a global company

      1. some travel is definitely involved - can be 25% or higher 2. oil and gas is a cyclical industry so when things turn bad, they are really bad

      Schlumberger employees are given a high level of responsibility and autonomy from the beginning. Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) management processes are unparalleled in the industry. There is a long standing culture of diversity and excellent opportunities for women. Schlumberger offers excellent benefits and family support. The organization is filled with knowledgeable employees, has ample opportunities for learning, and excellent knowledge sharing tools in use. It is a global organization, offering plenty of opportunity for changing one's profession or location.

      Cons

      None in my experience. Many people in the company work long hours, but there is a high level of dedication to the job and to the customer.
