Pros

To learn, and gain experience. Instruments breaks down a lot, it is a quick way to gain experience on how to handle instruments errors. Samples are complicated and if you are willing to spend time to get a correct result, you will learn a lot to minimize sample interference. Lastly the SOP in the company is so badly written in our region's lab such that you can do a lot of things to optimize the SOP, but the supervisors would think you are wasting time.

Cons

Supervisors are proud to be subjective, incapable of taking advice, and compromise professionality to rush urgent samples. They take no pride in their job as to safe-guard health of consumers but only to please their customers.
