Pros

Utopian... if you are OK not getting paid or if you are OK having account coverage and commission (Sales Credit) decisions being made based on who sleeps with whom in Cary... or maybe that was just the impression I got from many pieces of information.

Cons

Compensation. Head winds on commissions and internal Sales Credit policies limit earnings. I wish I had seen the Glassdoor post "Enterprise sellers - run from this company" before I joined. Pre-sales resources extremely reluctant to travel; emperor's new clothes. I cannot recall another company where Inside Sales holds the trump card.

The dark side of SAS

Pros

Private offices and a beautiful aesthetically pleasing campus.

Cons

There are two worlds at SAS. The dark world of SSOD (SAS Solution on Demand) and the rest of SAS. SSOD division has no work/life balance unlike whats mentioned about SAS all over the media. Your work bleeds into your nights, weekends, holidays and even your sleeping hours. They basically feel like they own your life and you are at their beck and call. SSOD is a high stress, fire fighting environment and a terrible place for a decent family life. They expect work to come before family and personal life. The rest of SAS (I hear, because I have never experienced it) is supposed to have a wonderful work/life balance like so many other reviews say. But for those of you considering SSOD, beware!

Pros

1. Great work culture. 2. Good policies. 3. Work on latest technologies.

Cons

1. Incompetent local management - Local management (few directors and managers) are working here for a long long time and are not able to understand/follow/adapt to the current market. Their laid back and ball passing attitude isn't doing good to the company. Their main motive is to remain in this company till retirement. 2. Local management feels insecure from talented/smart employees. They somehow try to suppress in one way or the other, ultimately leading to high attrition. Being an analytics leader, HR should apply some analytics to find out how many talented professionals have left the company in 2016/17 and because of which reasons. 3. Good communication skills are at least expected from the flag-bearers of the company. See, if you could impart some extensive communication training to the local higher management. 4. Promotions are "ALSO" handed over to those who have been working in this company for years (on the same role). It leads to frustration among those who actually work hard towards the betterment of the product/company.
