Outsiders: Keep Out!

Pros

Work / Life balance was good. You don't need to be in the office 10 hours a day. In most jobs, if you have something going on at home (ex. a repairman coming), you can work remotely for a bit.

Cons

There is no use for outsiders. Most jobs that you see posted will be filled by inside people - in most cases that means people from the "Leadership Development Program" who tend to shuffle around every few years to check another box on their resume. It is VERY difficult for an outsider (or even a former employee) to break into this environment. Even if they do, they will be stuck in that role while people who have had every project handed to them on a silver platter to make sure they didn't fail, go flying right by.

Pros

- Average Salary - Nice co-workers - Nice location/building

Cons

Rockwell Automation was a decent company to work for 30 years ago. One of the best in the times when employees signed up to work at a company and never left. Today Rockwell has fallen behind many other technology companies in regards to: - Slow to Change - Outdated Development Processes - Outdated Business Processes - Stale Culture - Not much is automated for a company that has automation in it's name - The last true innovation was 20 years ago

Pros

There is running water and air conditioning, plenty of parking

Cons

If you are a contractor, you will work side by side with full time employees, you will do the same amount of work, but with less pay and no benefits. Getting hired to full time is next to impossible. You will waste a year of your life here unless you are an intern trying to gain some experience.
