Pros

Even front line employees have a great amount of freedom on how to do things. Plenty of training, opportunity to do cross training in other departments. Great growth opportunities as the company prefers to promote own employees instead of taking somebody from outside. Good staff food.

Cons

All usual cons of hospitality industry; dealing with rude or drunk customers, shifts, working on week-ends etc.

Pros

Benefits, training, branding/ resume builder, experience, challenges will force you to grow, no hand holding, VIP's, awesome teamwork, Some really awesome leaders (as with anywhere), good cross departmental relationships

Cons

Work life balance, (as with anywhere people can be burned out), contrary to popular belief they do not always pay the highest salaries do your homework and ask for what you really want, lack of respect for employees when it comes to hourly staff communication
