Pretty chill job never felt like I had to sell sell sell and bother customers like I have at previous part-time jobs. Discount is fantastic most of the time, walmart still cheaper sometimes due to the ridiculous overpricing, used to have a lot of work to due with different management which was great and made the time go by fast I loved when I was given more responsibility and not treated like a child and as if I am incapable of any sort of responsibility(again compared to previous horrible job experiences) no harsh pressure of taking breaks. at a certain time, management always pretty friendly cant complain. Work around your schedule, more lenient after you are hired and abide by your availabilty but try to be more open with your schedule in the beginning

Cons

Older staff who have been working a while think they are entitled to certain shifts and dont like younger people coming in and messing up there way of doing things. Management changes frequently at least at my location, depending on management depends on how much hours they schedule how much work they give you. Not having a specific job to do besides cashier duties is so brutal it can make the shifts drag on foreeeever as rexall is not busy very often especially at night. Expect anything and everything from customers including scams requests for price changes discounts returns you name it but not so bad its not worth working there depending on your tolerance of working with the public. Management too worried about stealing and assume everyone is a criminal. Expired product (things that can be used after the expiry) are no longer given to employees to take like expired chocolate etc but instead places straight in the garbage and taken to the dump completely wasted.
