Toxic culture - but looks on CV

Pros

- Work from home flexibility - Looks good on CV (That’s it haha)

Cons

- Very inexperienced management on all levels. The management is very young, which for me is never an issue, the issue is that they are completely inexperienced at being in a management role. 9/10 of the sales managers are individuals who were ‘first’ in the sales org. So when the company grew they were placed in management to allow hiring. This means you will get very minimal support, they have no idea how to manage a team or create a positive culture. Will have no idea on advice for any growth other than “hit ur target” and even then you will not be promoted unless you suck up to top management. - KPI’s are a JOKE So not only are the management incompetent, KPI’s change every Q without fail. They are also impossible. You have to prospect, add 200+ companies to SF per WEEK. Contact them all and attempt to build a pipeline. All on top of pitching, demos, closing, onboarding and then manage clients once onboarded. If you do not make 50+ calls a day, 50+ emails a day, add your companies, have at least 5 demos booked, and also have at least 3-5 close per week, you’re called out in front of the whole team for underperforming. Even if you’re off on holiday or ill you’re expected to do double or triple when you’re back in to make up for it. You can tell this is enforced by top management and team managers are responsible for getting their team to do it. If you don’t hit these KPIs even if you HIT your target, they will not pay your commission. - no inbound leads if you’re a ‘seasoned (3 months+) AE. Inbound leads are also frowned upon using. - no support from an SDR or marketing so expected to do full cycle sales with no support and no real compensation if done. - no culture whatsover. - high turnover. In the 1 year at the company I saw people come and go in less time than me. My team lost on average 3 people per Q. - micromanaged to the point they’d count how many times you went to the toilet. - they listen to your calls to make sure the call was actually made and time how long said call was.

Hi! Thank you for your review! It’s a shame that your Revolut experience didn’t work out. Revolut is a fast-growing and exciting business. We've achieved a lot in a very short time, and this ambitious, dynamic environment can be challenging sometimes. In our everyday work we’re driven by our values — Never Settle, Get it Done and Deliver WOW. We couldn’t call ourselves a global financial superapp today if we weren’t true to them every day for the last seven years. Our team is our most precious asset, and we never compromise on talent. We select, coach, and retain the top talent and give them all the support to achieve greatness. Our goals are discussed and agreed between line managers and employees, to make sure they’re exciting not only for the company, but for the Revoluter too. We believe that clear performance expectations help us all focus on the same priorities, and to direct teamwork effort where it's needed. We wish you the best in your next step.

A culture that encourages brown-nosing Line and Functional Managers

Pros

1. Globally recognised brand, leader in the neobank space 2. Great benefits, especially when it comes to leave days 3. Flexible work arrangements

Cons

1. If you offend your line/functional managers, you could suffer and receive an unfair grading during the quarterly performance review. This is made worse as there is no appeal process for you to defend your work. Since only line managers' and functional managers' gradings matter, this only encourages everyone to play nice and be "supportive" of their managers' every decision or pander to their egos. 2. Lack of autonomy at country-level means everything from budgets to hiring are dependent upon the graces of the global teams. Country CEOs are powerless and this in turn makes them afraid to speak up against decisions that don't make sense. 3. No accountability when it comes to certain individuals in the organisation, especially those close to the senior management. Everyone's KPIs and performances are monitored closely - to the point of micro-managing people's work and strategies. But nothing is said about their inability to meet their KPIs. 4. Focus on quarterly KPIs means that a lot of people - even the most brilliant ones - develop tunnel vision after spending some time at Revolut. So focused on quarterly KPIs that any plans or ideas that require longer time to yield results will be shot down.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you are dissatisfied with your experience at Revolut. We believe that our success at Revolut comes from our people and our culture. We are truthful about each other’s performance. The bar is very high, and we evaluate people carefully and deliver honest feedback respectfully, in a non-personal way and provide guidance on what needs to be done to get promoted next time. We believe that clear KPIs help ensure that we all understand our goals and how we'll get there but we know that they aren't the only indicator of your contribution, and these additional factors are a part of our performance reviews. We admire people who live our values and support their colleagues in getting stuff done. We aim to ensure that all performance reviews fairly reflect progress and are very open in discussing them with employees. We wish you all the best, Ryan Jun Hyung Park People Partner Singapore
