Toxic culture that is encouraging bullying and harassment

Pros

None. This company shouldn't have the right to operate due to the treatment of their employees.

Cons

I have been working in few large and medium size companies and have experienced bad culture however Revolut is so far the worst company I have ever worked for in my career. I have witnessed practices where firing people is happening on a daily basis regardless of the local law. Revolut makes sure to hire young people who starts their career and are unaware of their rights thus they can let them go whenever the management decides it without any reasonable ground. The turnover at Revolut is extremely high; employees are going around the company with a pain in their stomach and a constant fear of not living up to the unrealistic KPI's set up on the go by managers. The company motto being "get **it done" means that basic human rights are not respected; if you challenge any practice or doesn't go along, the company will tell you that Revolut is not for everyone and that you don't belong to the "best" making you doubt about your own capacity and skills. Be reassured that it has nothing to do with you. Bullying and harassment are encouraged and driven by leadership even among so called "HR Leaders"; if you are daring providing a feedback and try to make any changes, you will end up being fired for performance. Wellbeing is completely disregarded even thought they will pretend they care about your mental health. If you survive a year (average tenure being 6 months at Revolut), you will probably leave with a burnout.

Thank you for your review. We take all reviews very seriously and investigate any allegations of misconduct or unreasonable behaviour. Your comments are serious and very concerning, but unfortunately makes a number of unsubstantiated allegations which we believe to be groundless. We uphold all relevant laws and regulations in every country in which we operate, including employment laws. Discriminatory behaviour is wholly unacceptable. We try to cultivate professional leadership to get the best out of all our teams and create a supportive working environment. To support our employees in their work-life balance we implemented a lot of initiatives: wellbeing days, temporary working abroad policy, flexible working, birthday leave and many more. Thousands of Revoluters take a good use of those and have a lot of fun while working with us much more than 1 year. We wish you the best

Modern Day Corporate Dictatorship

Pros

Sort by lowest rating for the truth. There is a toxic culture of fear masked by friendly smiles and free cereal. And the problem, is the guy in charge. On my first day as an employee, when morale was still high, I was asked to leave a Glassdoor review on Slack. Do you know why they do this? Because they know that your first day...is your happiest day. The others have too high a stake in the company. That's why you see 3.8 stars, because otherwise it would be 1.0 instead.

Cons

Poor work life balance, toxic culture. CEO looks down on everyone and treats you like a rat in a lab. Most dispensable I've ever felt.

Hi, we're serious about feedback from Revoluters. By intently listening, we've birthed new policies, such as our hybrid working arrangement, 60-day temporary working abroad flexibility and our new exciting office spaces (RevLabs). We are still a very young business that has grown very quickly to meet the needs of our customers. We’re constantly looking to ensure that we support the people who enable us to create great products and support our customers. We try to cultivate professional leadership to get the best out of all our teams and create a supportive working environment. Please consider speaking up through our internal channels (Whistleblowing Portal) if this is not your experience so we can investiagate and make Revolut a great place to work.

Male driven environment and females viewed as weak ~ females underpaid compared to males in similar positions ~ females treated like second class citizens ~ limited women in senior leadership positions ~ limited benefits: terrible maternity scheme, no food credits and limited wellness support ~ no salary increase in 2021 ~ forced to take growth shares to benefit the company

This is really disappointing - no hiding from that - but we'd like to come back on some of the points. We can't pretend we have anything like the number of women we want in leadership positions. We're working to change that . But it's certainly not for lack of respect. At entry level we're glad that women aren't far off 50% of our recruits but like many tech companies there are far fewer as you go up the levels. We're laying down targets and creating a road map to raise our game here. We aim to at least double the proportion of women in our leadership roles. We don't accept that women are treated differently from their male colleagues. We have inspiring women in some of our most important roles, like our CEOs in Japan and India, the chief operating officer of our wealth and trading business, head of global authorisations and directors in financial crime, risk management and legal. We believe that every employee should be treated with respect, female or male, and we won't tolerate anything else. We're disappointed that one of our colleagues thinks our benefits don't measure up. We aim to offer benefits at least as good as our peers and we’re upgrading our parental benefits in Q3, focusing on leave and support for our employees. The truth is we're a young company and we're learning fast and introducing new benefits and improving all the time. We learn from employees (and even competitors) what they think makes life work for them (like hybrid working, up to two months working abroad and this year two extra well being days to take when you need them). And we'll keep doing that. We would really like to speak with you about the points you have raised, please reach out to your manager, Jim and/or our thriving Women@Revolut guild. We want all voices to be heard at Revolut. We can always be better, and we'll never settle.
