Pros

- Good Salaries - Great office space - Free Deliveroo

Cons

You only have to read some the most recent reviews to understand what it's like to work at Revolut. "A lot of good people around but culture is awful" "No work life balance, Management only cares about your works not you." "Top down micro management and unachievable targets" "Innovating company but complete wrong management" "Bad management, poor HR practices, would avoid" "Not recommended even if Revolut brand name big" There is no real autonomy to make a difference. Teams are not empowered to set and focus on longer term strategies. Senior leadership style is more of a dictatorship, with teams simply closing actions coming from the top. It's dire. Very open about company willingness to fire people with a '0% underperformance target by the end of 2020 at any cost' objective. General vibe is unfriendly and unsupportive. Glassdoor responses feel PR driven rather than respond to actual issues. You simply cannot sugar coat how the company acts. Yes, we may be building a rocket ship, but unless we develop a heart as a business, it's gonna crash.

We’d like to thank you for taking the time to write this review, we do take these seriously and pass on all feedback to the appropriate people. Revolut’s performance review process includes time for informal and formal check ins on performance. Where people have been let go after a performance review, this follows formal review and discussion of their performance and where the company believes that the employee has not achieved the expected performance. We feel that we’re an organisation where everyone’s ideas are respected, and that people have the autonomy and support to be able to pursue those ideas, so it’s disappointing that this hasn’t been your experience so far with us. We would urge you to escalate this to anyone in management you feel you can speak to. Thanks again for your recommendations, please know that they will be passed on.

Pros

- Nice name on a CV - Lots of offers from other companies after you spend 3+ months at Rev - A few people became rich

Cons

Worst place for designers to work at: - User testing is non-existent; - You don't make decisions, you just make what the CEO says; - The CEO believes that any sort of exploration tools (customer research, a/b testing etc.) are for 'lazy-thinkers', meaning you never get to the exploration stage, you just do what he thinks should be done; - You must present something twice a week, otherwise you're too slow and must be fired; - Your opinion doesn't matter because (obviously) the CEO knows what's better! - Overall culture of abusing people (sometimes in public) is being driven from the top and is not something they think should be fixed. I recommend to avoid this company. Join only if you're at a Junior level and want to have something recognisable on your CV, but do not spend more than 6 months there.

Hi, thank you for contributing a review. Revolut has grown very fast. We're constantly working not only on providing customers with the best possible product but on making Revolut a great place to work. At Revolut each team works independently and what works well in one team may not apply for other teams. In fact some teams use A/B testing while others decided not to (for multiple reasons). While hiring we are looking for proactive people who can improve processes if in their opinion they don't work fine in some particular places. Wishing you best, Ivan Vazhnov

Pros

- Technical challenges - You can grow if you're willing to work very hard - If you don't, you can just 9-5 without much worry - No "hybrid office" bs - Good engineering and software delivery practices - No layoffs

Cons

- Toxic people, especially some of Russians/Belarusians/Ukrainians - A ton of bureaucracy, and you need to know people to get around it. E.g., you may wait for your PR to be merged for days, but if you know a guy there, he can merge it for you right now. If you don't... - Company is thrift - e.g., you only get a Macbook and £400 to set up a home office, and that's it - no external screen, no education budget, very hard to get funding to go to conferences. Always the cheepest wine at parties, etc, etc. Maybe it's connected to "no layoffs" point though. - There's the whole promotion framework, but very little clarity w.r.t how much money you will get at the next level. Some people get none, only more responsibility. - Stupid corporate "values" are stuffed into every exec's message. The only real value is "deliver, deliver, deliver, and no one will care if you're a jerk". - Attrition is very high - London office is very lackluster
