Great place to work

Pros

Great place to work, where the culture is open, friendly, and ready to work hard to get the job done. Nice that it has a casual dress code and many open discussions.

Cons

There aren't a lot of women in high up leadership positions, especially on the sales side. Can feel like the good ol boys club sometimes, when almost all of the upper management are men driving their fancy cars and owning multiple homes, but I guess that's corporate America for you!

Pros

Decent pay, some very fun times, excellent colleagues, open source spirit, good reputation, respect in the industry, good customers, free hat.

Cons

Questionable, sometimes bizarre decisions from product management and upper management; heavy favouritism; lot's of politics, even in low level jobs; terrible tools!

Pros

From a sales standpoint, good brand recognition and being the recognized leader makes life easier. A solid product portfolio, innovation and solid customer demand for products is a big plus. I generally like the people at red hat.

Cons

Business groups each tend to live in their own bubble, and unfortunately there is often little cooperation between groups. Certain departments have too much control over the processes. There are creative ways in the comp plan to limit the money you can make. Executive management seems to be a bit detached. There is little empowerment to make decisions. Certain departments are more concerned about whats going on inside their bubble, rather than how things impact the customer. -a lot of red tape to get anything done, politics -poor processes -insufficient marketing / advertising efforts
