Pros

lovely geeky company to work for, irc is prevalent, so everyone refers to everybody else using irc nick. great production support work as well as lots of work in engineering

Cons

can get stuck in tech support if you are not careful, quite possible that you may never move out of support so join in engineering if you want a dev job

Pros

they hire smart people, they value their employees, there is room for growth, is a successful company, open source, promote a meritocracy,

Cons

As a consultant, you can get put on jobs which are terrible and expected to work a lot in a stressful environment, but I think that is typical of consulting in general and Red Hat tries to work with employees to make sure they're happy
