Pros

The best part about working at Red Hat is being able to collaborate with highly intelligent and passionate colleagues. It is an environment which encourages learning and development. Employees are treated as adults and trusted to manage own schedules.

Cons

Some silos make it difficult to cooperate across different departments and geographies. However Red Hat is still in the midst of transitioning to a large company, so with proper management its internal procedures should catch up eventually.

Fun but nowhere to go...

Pros

Working Environment: fun, fast-paced, opportunity to travel Free food on most days somewhere in the office Great office space

Cons

Low salary. Had to leave because it just wan't competitive enough. Promotions are based on who you are friends with-- not merit based. People in leadership never move-- and often have no idea what they are doing.
