Pros

It's awesome to work with everyone around you engrossed in building a better software company. Management is pretty transparent, and decisions are made fairly quickly.

Cons

If you work remotely, things lik the FMLA do not apply to you in some cases. This is a Con for any company, though.

Pros

Enormously bright people -- more than anything else, everyone is _proactive_ and professional. The work is challenging, you are rarely pigeon-holed (confined to only one type of work/role) and lots of room for growth and new ideas.

Cons

Red Hat is really, really political, especially on the engineering side -- sometimes, it almost feels like an academic atmosphere in that respect, which is good on the idea side, but bad on the political side.
