Pros

Cutting edge technology and good benefits. The products sell themselves and the people are as sharp as they come. Potentially for good work life balance depending on your role and territory.

Cons

Pay is well below industry average. The culture has changed dramatically over the past few years, especially in the past year. It feels like we work for IBM.

Flawed Partner Model and Price Quoting

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

Red hat tends to have a heavy partner model

Cons

Red Hat tends to have way too many partner resellers. They need to thin the heard to lesser amount that are not simple paper pushers but add real VAR value to RH and the customer. Quoting process is broken there are over 50 steps to quote product. Partner model allows for distributor to create their own quotes and pricing completely unchecked as against current contract or past pricing approvals based on PxQ purchases with customer accounts.
